Basingstoke in North East Hampshire was an old market town until the 1960’s, when it expanded to encompass the London over-spill.

It is now an important economic centre for the United Kingdom, and houses the UK headquarters of a number of large companies including De La RueSun Life FinancialThe Automobile Association and Eli Lilly. The town has seen some major re-development in recent years and is now home to a large shopping area called Festival Place that also houses a cinema complex, restaurants and bars. Basingstoke is on the South West Trains line to London (Waterloo) and the South and off the M3 at Junction 6 or 7.
